Zero Gravity This already impressive beach club will be extended in November of this year to add more bars, an infinity pool, Jacuzzi, more sun loungers and loads more space. Well-known for a packed calendar of nightlife events with international DJs, this is also a recommended spot by day. You don’t even need to bring entertainment, as a steady supply of skydivers overhead in gives you plenty to watch all day long.
Sun-Thu Dhs150 (adults with Dhs50 off F&B) Dhs250 (couples with Dhs75 off F&B), Dhs100 (kids with Dhs25 off F&B). Fri-Sat Dhs250 (adults with Dhs100 off F&B) Dhs450 (couples with Dhs150 off F&B), Dhs100 (kids with Dhs50 off F&B). Dubai Marina, near Skydive Dubai, www.0-gravity.ae (04 399 0009).
Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort
At the end of Dubai Marina and JBR, this private club has close proximity to facilities, but the exclusivity of private beach access. Private cabanas are large enough for six (at a squeeze) and come with food and drink (Dhs1,200 at weekends fully redeemable on F&B or Dhs500 on weekdays with Dhs450 redeemable on F&B). Stay until the evening when the area transforms into the stylish Bliss Lounge for a club vibe right on the beach.
Sun-Thu: Dhs140 (adults), Dhs90 (kids); Fri-Sat: Dhs220 (adults), Dhs120 (kids). Sheraton Jumeirah Beach, JBR, www.sheratonjumeirahbeach.com (04 399 5533).
Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa, Autograph Collection Chances are if you have ever stopped to watch watersports in the JBR area it started off here. The Habtoor beach club is home to Nautica, an independent company providing first-rate banana boat rides, kayaking, windsurfing and more. Don’t fancy that? Then hundreds of sun loungers await and swimming pools (with basic waterslides) will appeal to children. Loungers are tightly packed meaning you’ll be very close to neighbours. Stay late and you can head to the XL Beach Club.
Sun-Thu Dhs150 (adults), Dhs100 (kids) Fri-Sat Dhs250 (adults), Dhs125 (kids). Dubai Marina, grandjumeirah.habtoorhotels.com (04 399 5000).
Nasimi BeachAccess is free but there is a minimum spend on food and drinks at the Atlantis hotel’s Ibiza-style beach lounge. Balearic beats drift across the dozens of tanned and muscled beach boys and girls that hang out here all day and night most weekends. If you’ve ever wondered where all the perfectly sculpted people you see around the city’s VIP rooms hang out during the day, this is your answer. If you’re not bothered about watersports, facilities for kids or quiet reflection, this party beach is the place for you to do your paddling.
Sun-Thu Dhs150 per person minimum spend on sun loungers and sofas, Dhs800 minimum spend for three person cabanas. Fri-Sat Dhs250 per person minimum spend per person on sun loungers and sofas and Dhs1,000 minimum spend for cabanas. Atlantis, The Palm, Palm Jumeirah (04 426 2626).
Riva Beach Club There is something homely and welcoming about this Palm Shoreline beach club. Without the enormity of some more established spots and the pounding tunes of the more party-orientated clubs, Riva offers good facilities at actually reasonable prices. If you want the exclusivity, facilities and service of a private beach club without breaking the bank this is a sensible option.
Sun-Thu Dhs100 (adults); Dhs50 (kids); Fri-Sat Dhs175 (adults); Dhs85 (kids); Dhs50 extra for gym access. Shoreline Apartments Building 8, Palm Jumeirah (04 430 9466).
The Royal Island Beach ClubOn wow factor alone this offshore beach club is hard to beat. The only way to arrive is on board one of the hourly boats which take refuge-seekers out to The World Island archipelago. Lebanon Island, to be precise. The setting affords views of most major Dubai landmarks and kayaking is a further way to improve the stunning setting. The Beach Club itself is rather routine, but with chic styling and a chill-out soundtrack, you can sit under the palm trees and get your Robinson Crusoe on.
Daily Dhs200 (adult), Dhs100 (kids). Price includes boat transfer from Jumeirah Fishing Harbour 1. Royal Island Beach Club, Lebanon – The World Islands (050 617 6507).
